The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Butterfly proboscis. Light micrograph of the coiled proboscis ('tongue') of a butterfly. The proboscis of a butterfly consists of two half-tubes which join together in the mid-line to form a single tube for sucking up fluids, mainly nectar from flowers. The tube is reinforced by sclerotised rings. At the end of the tongue are sensory spines (papillae). For this image with these areas highlighted, see image C007/8473.
